Randomness

Hi!  I’m bored.  Twinkie is being antsy cuz it’s almost her dinner time, but I’m still stuck at my computer ‘at work.’  Some people might think it’s cool to work from home… but it’s not.  It takes a lot of discipline and I’m really not getting the monetary payoff I’d been hoping for.  So yesterday I applied for a job as a Pet Care Specialist at PetSmart.  I’ll try to go over there tomorrow (or sometime this week) to harass them about hiring me.  I’ve got plenty of fish, gerbil and hamster experience!  I know how to clean their stinky cages!  lol

Tonight the Giants are playing at 8PM, so I can actually watch the game for once!  Shocking!  I hope they don’t get beat like last week.  Then Danny will be sad.  :-(  The stupid Yankees are also playing tonight… and while I tell Dan that I’m rooting with him for the NY team… I secretly want the Angels to win.  A few weeks ago I predicted that a west coast team was going to win the World Series.  So the LA Angels are my last chance to prove that I’m a prophet.  XP

Anniversary!

Yesterday was Danny and my 4th year anniversary of dating!  We still love each other more every day and we had a lovely day together.  I took the day off from work so we could hang out.  We decided to go out to dinner at TGI Fridays!  LOL I know, no big deal.  But it was still fun!  And then we went on an exciting trip to PETSMART to get kitty Halloween costumes!  I posted pics in the previous entry.  We bought a pumpkin collar too but I didn’t take a pic of that yet.  More kitty costume photos will come in the future, don’t worry!  XD

We would have gone to the movies to complete the ‘date night’ atmosphere, but there was nothing we really felt like spending money to see.

Ahhh thrifty anniversaries!  Instead, we spent the night playing my new Guitar Hero: Van Halen that just arrived in the mail!  It was great!

Oh, and we are going to see the Devils vs. Capitals on November 4th as an extended anniversary celebration.  You see, our first date was at a hockey game (granted it was at MSG but you couldn’t PAY us to go see a game there again!  lol) so we try to see a game for our anniversary each year.  I’m excited to see Ovechkin play IN PERSON for once!!

Early Morning

It’s 8:30 AM.  I barely got to sleep last night, at like 3 AM.  Woke up an hour ago, so that’s just 4 and a half hours of sleep.  I feel like crap!

My stomach is really hurting.  I already had to wake up Danny so I could take a break.  :(

All I had was some swigs of my Snapple, so who knows what’s triggering me now!

My original favorite Playfish game (before I started playing Pet Society) upgraded itself today/yesterday.  Restaurant City now has spooky decorations and dishes to serve!  Too bad they are all spicy pumpkin dishes that I don’t have the ingredients for!  :P

I just downloaded the song “Wash Away” by Joe Purdy.  I luvs it.

HW is DONE!

My very late Flash project was finally completed tonight!  I’m just so happy to have that weight lifted off me… I kept procrastinating and it would always be lingering in the back of my mind while I was playing games and doing other things instead of finishing my hw.  It was a lot of busywork… ActionScript 2.0 stuff.

I don’t know what I was doing wrong, but for some reason my coding wasn’t working when I was just using the gotoAndPlay function and referencing a frame number.  Thankfully, I realized I could give the specific starting frames assorted Frame Labels and used that to reference my script.  And then once that stopped working, I used the good old LoadMovieNum command to get the nav menu running smoothly.

One guy in my class uploaded his flash file to his website.  And incorporated ASPX for his navigation.  It was pretty good, but his CSS was messed up.

Another girl in my class just had a straight-run animation.  Hand drawn.  It was pretty cute I guess… but it made me feel a lot better about my own project.  XD

Sigh.  Islanders lost again today… that makes our record 0-1-3 so far for the season. I didn’t get to watch today’s afternoon game (thanks to my job!) but it didn’t even sound like a close game.  Granted, any game played during a “Kids Home Opener” that has a 2pm start time isn’t expected to go that well…  But in the first three games, the Isles played really well.  They kept themselves in the game, and at least made it to overtime to get a point in the standings. Not today.  No overtime, no shoot out.  Just a regulation loss.  Danny said, “At least you didn’t get shut out.”  Not really a good consolation prize. What we really need is a WIN!  Our next game is against Buffalo.  Not exactly the ideal creampuffs we need to get our first win.  But it’s gotta come sometime right??  Keep on hoping…

Public Holidays in Japan

こんいちは！

Today there was new Japanese DLC released for Animal Crossing: City Folk.  As usual, I popped over to my friend’s town ちびくろ to get the new item.  Then a friend of mine decided it was time to find out once and for all what all these events in Japan mean, and why they are being celebrated.

Thankfully, you can always count on Wikipedia to have the answers to your most random questions!

These are our (myself and my boyfriend Dan’s) two kitties.  Twinkie is on the left and Bones is on the right. If you’ve ever seen the movie “Step Brothers” (with Will Ferrell and John C. Riley), these two cats have the same exact relationship.  First they hated each other. Then they realized they have the same likes, dislikes, and they share a common goal - getting me to give them food. Dan recounted some lines of dialog from the movie: “Did we just become best friends?” “YUP!” “Wanna go do karate in the garage?” “YUP!” And that’s pretty much how our cats get along these days. Zoom
